Early Childhood (2-6 years)

Growth: Children typically grow 2.5 inches in height and gain 5-7 pounds annually. Proportions change as the head becomes smaller relative to the body.

Motor Skills: Significant improvements in both gross motor skills (running, jumping) and fine motor skills (drawing, dressing).

Middle Childhood (6-11 years)


Growth: Steady growth continues, with children growing 2-3 inches per year and gaining 5-7 pounds annually.

Motor Skills: Enhanced coordination and strength, improvements in handwriting, sports abilities, and other fine motor activities.

Late Childhood (11-14 years)

Growth: Onset of puberty, marked by rapid growth spurts and development of primary and secondary sexual characteristics.

Motor Skills: Continued refinement of motor skills, increased physical strength, and endurance.
