Child-Centered Approaches

Child-Centered Kindergarten: An educational approach that emphasizes the child's development and learning needs, interests, and natural learning behaviors.

Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP):
Teaching methods that are based on how children develop and learn, focusing on age-appropriate activities and expectations.

Montessori Approach: An educational philosophy emphasizing self-directed activity, hands-on learning, and collaborative play.

Special Education and Intellectual Development Educational Practices

Inclusion: Educating a child with special educational needs full-time in the regular classroom. 

Individualized Education Plan (IEP): A written statement that spells out a program specifically tailored to a child with a disability.

Least Restrictive Environment (LRE): The setting that is as similar as possible to that of children without special needs.
